Australia and Singapore sign green economy deal
Australia and Singapore have agreed on a green economy agreement to strengthen cooperation on climate investment. This was reported by Reuters on Tuesday.
According to him, the agreement was announced by the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong. “This will support our countries’ transition to zero emissions, create jobs and growth opportunities in green sectors, and promote the development and commercialization of green technologies,” the agency quoted him as saying.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese cited the Sun Cable project, which aims to export solar energy from Australia to Singapore via Indonesia, as an example of what the deal is aimed at, Reuters reported. “A project like Sun Cable, which has the potential to export clean energy to Singapore, is a win-win,” the agency quoted him as saying.
